Studies of h/e Aharonov-Bohm Photovoltaic Oscillations in Mesoscopic Au Rings

open access: yes, 1996
We have investigated a mesoscopic photovoltaic (PV) effect in micron-size Au rings in which a dc voltage Vdc is generated in response to microwave radiation. The effect is due to the lack of inversion symmetry in a disordered system.

Solar generated quasi-biennial geomagnetic variation [PDF]

open access: yes
The existence of highly correlated quasi-biennial variations in the geomagnetic field and in solar activity is demonstrated. The analysis uses a numerical filter technique applied to monthly averages of the geomagnetic horizontal component and of the ...

Evolving towards a critical point: A possible electromagnetic way in which the critical regime is reached as the rupture approaches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
International audienceIn analogy to the study of critical phase transitions in statistical physics, it has been argued recently that the fracture of heterogeneous materials could be viewed as a critical phenomenon, either at laboratory or at geophysical ...
