Texture Development in Dual Phase a/B-Brass - Part II: Recrystallization Textures

International Journal of Materials Research, 1995
The development of the crystallographic texture in two phase α/β-brass Cu-40 % Zn containing 20 vol.% β phase was investigated separately for both phases by means of 3-dimensional orientation distribution functions (ODFs). The results were compared to those of the single phase alloy Cu-37% Zn and to literature data of Cu-30% Zn. Whereas the development

Textures and spin waves in rotating superfluid3H3-B

Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1983
The spin wave modes in rotating superfluid3He-B have been calculated for a texture of cylindrical symmetry. The textural configuration is determined by minimizing the appropriate free energy and solving the resulting Euler-Lagrange equations for then vector. The texture determines the effective potential entering the spin wave equation.

Rolling texture in the intermetallic compound Ni76Al24(B)

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1998
The development of cold rolling texture in the intermetallic compound Ni3Al(B) has been investigated as a function of rolling reduction, using the conventional pole figure as well as the orientation distribution functions (ODF) method. The textures at low degrees of deformation have been found to be similar to the rolling texture of pure Ni cold rolled

On the texture of NdFeB permanent magnets

Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1990
Abstract For NdFeB magnets, there is only the general process of sintering, or the elimination of pores. No evidence of any improvement in grain orientation is observed and this is associated with limited growth of Nd2Fe14B grains. This behaviour is different from that of the (SmPr)Co5 alloy. There is an indication of internal demagnetization in Nd

Development of cold rolling texture in Ni3Al (B)

Scripta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1995
High temperature intermetallic compounds like Ni[sub 3]Al are potential candidates for structural applications. Ni[sub 3]Al has an L[sup [sub 2]] structure and is ordered up to its melting point. The L1[sub 2] ordered structure of Ni[sub 3]Al may develop by ordering in a disordered F.C.C. structure.

Textures and spin currents in the B phase of3He

Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1975
The effects of boundaries and magnetic fields on the textures of the B phase of liquid3He are considered. It is found that the liquid undergoes a change from an unbended into a bended state analogously to a second order phase transition. A measurement of the phase boundary would give the coefficients of the relevant free energies.

Texture of echographic B-mode images

1988
The influences of the properties of the sound field and of the effective density of scatterers within a tissue were investigated by a realistic simulation study. The results indicate a great dependence of the texture parameters on the depth of the insonated tissue volume. The density of the scatterers is revealed by the texture up to a limit set by the

Microstructure and Textures in Rolled and Recrystallized Ni3Al + B

MRS Proceedings, 1992
The deformation and recrystallization structure as well as the evolution of crystallographic textures of heavily deformed, partially and fully recrystallized Ni 3 Al, ductilized with minor additions of boron, were investigated. The macroscopic orientation distribution was determined by X-ray pole-figure measurements and subsequent computation of the ...

Textural variations in B-mode ultrasonography: A stochastic model

Ultrasonic Imaging, 1981
Analysis of textural patterns in gray-scale ultrasonography is frequently the basis for clinical diagnosis. It has been found, however, that texture is shaped not only by tissue microstructure but by characteristics of the imaging system as well. This paper describes computer and analytic models which give insight into the role of the imager in texture

Texture investigation of hot-forged Nd–Fe–B magnets

Philosophical Magazine A, 2000
This work represents one of the first attempts to probe the bulk crystallographic alignment of hot-forged Nd-Fe-B-Cu magnets using neutron diffraction techniques. Optimizing the microstructure induced by the hot-forging process is necessary to develop good magnetic properties.
