Macrocyclic trichothecenes: Cause of livestock poisoning by the Brazilian plant Baccharis coridifolia

Toxicon, 1985
Nine macrocyclic trichothecenes, thought to cause toxic effects in herbivors, were isolated from the Brazilian shrub Baccharis coridifolia. The structures of two new components, named miophytocene A and B, are described. Structure analysis was mainly accomplished by application of two-dimensional Fourier transform NMR techniques. The trichothecenes are

Trichothecenes Production by the Hypocrealean Epibiont of Baccharis coridifolia

Plant Biology, 2000
Abstract: The Hypocrealean epibiont of Baccharis coridifolia has been shown to synthesize de novo a series of macrocyclic trichothecene antibiotics, such as roridin A, roridin E, verrucarin A and verrucarin J. The structures of the compounds were determined by spectroscopic methods (1H‐ and 13C‐NMR and FABMS).

Chemischer Informationsdienst, 1985
AbstractAus B. coridifolia werden neben Miotoxin Azwei Dihydro‐Derivate (I), Miotoxin Dund Isomiotoxin D, isoliert, deren Strukturen durch zweidimensionale FT‐NMR‐Spektroskopie (′H, "C) und FD‐Massenspektroskopie aufgeklärt werden.

Ceratopycnidium baccharidicola sp. nov., from Baccharis coridifolia in Argentina

Mycological Research, 1991
Ceratopycnidium baccharidicola sp. nov. is described, illustrated and compared with C. citricola , the type species of the genus. Both have similar conidial ontogeny. The new species was isolated as an endophyte from Baccharis coridifolia .

Essential Oil of Female Plants ofBaccharis coridifoliaDe Candole

Journal of Essential Oil Research, 2001
Abstract The essential oil of Baccharis coridifolia D.C., obtained by hydrodistillation of the aerial part of female plants in flowering-fructification, was analyzed by GC (retention indices) and GC/MS. The analysis revealed the presence of 29 compounds (89.2% of the oil) of which isocaryophyllene (34.3%), β-caryophyllene (10.8%), caryophyllene oxide ...
