Supernormality in Bachmann's Bundle [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation Research, 1968
A supernormal phase of conduction between right and left atria was observed in the exposed hearts of anesthetized dogs. Interatrial conduction time of premature atrial responses was reduced by as much as 17% during the early phase of diastole, relative to the conduction interval of basic driven responses.

Bachmann’s Bundle’s Unique Physiology

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports, 2023
A 69-year-old man with a history of previous ablation and cardiac surgery was found on cardiac electrophysiology study to have a macro-re-entrant left atrial flutter initially misdiagnosed as a micro-re-entrant right atrial tachycardia resulting from the unique conduction properties of Bachmann's bundle. (Level of Difficulty: Advanced.).

Effectiveness of Bachmann's Bundle Pacing in a Patient With Severe Heart Failure and Refractory Atrial Fibrillation. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Arrhythm
This case report highlights CRT‐D with Bachmann's bundle pacing (BBP) in a patient with severe heart failure and refractory atrial fibrillation. BBP preserved atrioventricular conduction without PR prolongation, maintained left ventricular–only pacing, and was associated with suppression of atrial fibrillation and improvement in left atrial contractile

Hybrid approach for long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation: immediate versus staged treatment

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2022
Background The hybrid approach has become the most effective treatment option for restoring sinus rhythm and reducing the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence.

Dysrhythmia in Patients with Congenital Heart Disease and exploring the Role of Bachmann’s Bundle in Atrial Fibrillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
This thesis focuses on development and risk factors of dysthyrhmia, in particular atrial fibrillation, in patients with congenital heart disease. Furthermore, with oud unique epicarial mapping methods we investigated conduction across Bachmann's bundle,

Bayés’ Syndrome—A Comprehensive Short Review

open access: yesMedicina, 2020
Prediction and early detection of atrial fibrillation (AF) remain a permanent challenge in everyday practice. Timely identification of an increased risk for AF episodes (which are frequently asymptomatic) is essential in the primary and secondary ...

Treatment strategy and endpoint of catheter ablation for bi‐atrial tachycardia after substrate modification ablation in a low voltage zone of the left atrial anterior wall: Long‐term results

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2021
Background The termination of bi‐atrial tachycardia (BiAT) via the ablation of the Bachmann's bundle (BB) and mitral isthmus (MI) has been previously reported; however, the strategy and long‐term results of catheter ablation for BiAT remain unclear ...

Atrial and atrioventricular resynchronization the benefit of bachmanns bundle and his bundle pacing [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal, 2020
Abstract   The current treatment of patients with heart failure and concomitant atrioventricular conduction delay is difficult. Recommendations indicate the possibility to use the classic resynchronization but in the presence of narrow QRS-complex such approach could be even harmful.

Increased fibroblast accumulation in the equine heart following persistent atrial fibrillation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology: Heart & Vasculature, 2021
Background: Fibroblasts maintain the extracellular matrix homeostasis and may couple to cardiomyocytes through gap junctions and thereby increase the susceptibility to slow conduction and cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation (AF).
