This study develops a time‐domain geoelectrical model of ground potential rise (GPR) in multilayer soil that couples electromagnetic field theory with nonlinear fault arc resistance. Finite‐element simulations calibrated against scaled fault‐injection experiments reproduce measured GPR and step/touch voltages within 4.7% error, revealing that steady ...

The Saturation Limit of the Magnetorotational Instability
Simulations of the magnetorotational instability (MRI) in a homogeneous shearing box have shown that the asymptotic strength of the magnetic field declines steeply with increasing resolution.

Helicity conservation in nonlinear mean-field solar dynamo
We explore the impact of magnetic helicity conservation on the mean-field solar dynamo using the axisymmetric dynamo model which includes the subsurface shear.

Bearingless machines are used for a variety of applications with demand for low mechanical loss, low wear and low contamination. These machines use contact-free magnetic suspension to levitate the rotor. The control of the machine requires precise radial

Accretion Disks and Dynamos: Toward a Unified Mean Field Theory
Conversion of gravitational energy into radiation in accretion discs and the origin of large scale magnetic fields in astrophysical rotators have often been distinct topics of research. In semi-analytic work on both problems it has been useful to presume
