Background Pollution's effect on AERMOD Air Quality Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesاکولوژی انسانی
Air pollution is the presence of harmful substances in the air at concentrations sufficient to cause adverse effects. This includes solid, liquid, or gaseous pollutants, as well as radioactive and non-radioactive radiation, present at levels and ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Background Subtraction Using Dominant Directional Pattern

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Background subtraction technique is commonly used in foreground segmentation problem. Most of the existing color or intensity feature-based background subtraction methods suffer in non-stationary environments, such as presence of illumination variations.

A Deep Moving-Camera Background Model

open access: yes, 2022
In video analysis, background models have many applications such as background/foreground separation, change detection, anomaly detection, tracking, and more. However, while learning such a model in a video captured by a static camera is a fairly-solved task, in the case of a Moving-camera Background Model (MCBM), the success has been far more modest ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Cascaded algorithm for background modeling using pixel-based and block-based methods

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2013
Block-based background modeling couldn't obtain the exact shape of foreground, while pixel-based approaches couldn't handle non-stationary backgrounds effectively. To solve the problem,a hierarchical scheme for background modeling was presented. The ...

Whitening of Background Brain Activity via Parametric Modeling

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2007
Several signal subspace techniques have been recently suggested for the extraction of the visual evoked potential signals from brain background colored noise.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
