Real-Time Discriminative Background Subtraction

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2011
The authors examine the problem of segmenting foreground objects in live video when background scene textures change over time. In particular, we formulate background subtraction as minimizing a penalized instantaneous risk functional--yielding a local online discriminative algorithm that can quickly adapt to temporal changes.

Warping background subtraction

2010 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2010
We present a background model that differentiates between background motion and foreground objects. Unlike most models that represent the variability of pixel intensity at a particular location in the image, we model the underlying warping of pixel locations arising from background motion.

Simple background subtraction constraint for weakly supervised background subtraction network

2019 16th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Video and Signal Based Surveillance (AVSS), 2019
Recently, background subtraction based on deep convolutional neural networks has demonstrated excellent performance in change detection tasks. However, most of the reported approaches require pixel-level label images for training the networks. To reduce the cost of rendering pixel-level annotation data, weakly supervised learning approaches using frame-

Background subtraction using dual-class backgrounds

2016 14th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARCV), 2016
This paper presents a novel approach to background subtraction which aims to extract moving objects in video stream. To this end, a novel background model is proposed by using both working backgrounds and candidate backgrounds, which can be transferred to each other according to an adaptive mechanism.

Texture based background subtraction

2008 International Conference on Information and Automation, 2008
Background subtraction is an effective technique for motion detection. A traditional background subtraction algorithm assumes a moving object (or objects) with respect to a static background, and segments the moving object(s) by classifying pixels into foreground and background with trained statistical models.

Foreground-Adaptive Background Subtraction

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2009
Background subtraction is a powerful mechanism for detecting change in a sequence of images that finds many applications. The most successful background subtraction methods apply probabilistic models to background intensities evolving in time; nonparametric and mixture-of-Gaussians models are but two examples.

Bayesian PIXE background subtraction

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1999
Abstract The subtraction of the X-ray background in a PIXE spectrum has been the subject of many investigations and different techniques have been developed. These techniques vary from filtering to fitting polynomial functions. The promising Bayesian Statistics technique has been used in this study to eliminate the background from the spectrum in a ...
