Where feminists dare

open access: yesOñati Socio-Legal Series, 2023
This paper focuses on the public debate in Poland and Italy concerning the right to abortion in the contemporary rise of populist neo-conservative forces in Europe and of a global feminist movement.

Motion stabilization in the presence of friction and backlash: a hybrid system approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper a hybrid system approach is considered to deal with backlash and friction induced nonlinearities in mechanical control systems. To describe the low velocity frictional behaviour a linearized friction model is proposed. The novelty of this

Parameters Identification for a Composite Piezoelectric Actuator Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This work presents an approach for identifying the model of a composite piezoelectric (PZT) bimorph actuator dynamics, with the objective of creating a robust model that can be used under various operating conditions.

Selective Separation of the Rare Earth Elements Dysprosium and Neodymium via Tailoring Nanocellulose Chemical Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.

A comparative investigation of meshing characteristics of anti-backlash single-and double-roller enveloping hourglass worm gears

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2019
The new precision transmission system-Anti-backlash roller enveloping hourglass worm gears are now widely employed in many industrial sectors such as robot joint design, packaging production line, and CNC (computer numerical control) machine tools ...

Elastic suspension of a wind tunnel test section [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Experimental verification of the theory describing arbitrary motions of an airfoil is reported. The experimental apparatus is described. A mechanism was designed to provide two separate degrees of freedom without friction or backlash to mask the small ...

Dense Nanofibrillar Collagen–Silica Hybrids with High Strength and ECM‐Mimetic Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dense nanofibrillar collagen–silica hybrids are engineered by synchronizing collagen fibrillogenesis with silica condensation, producing printable scaffolds that unexpectedly approach native extracellular matrix organization and strength. These cell‐free constructs guide endogenous cell‐infiltration, enable localized matrix remodeling, and integrate ...

Quasi‐Static to Supersonic Energy Absorption of Nanoarchitected Tubulanes and Schwarzites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoarchitected energy‐absorptive Tubulanes exhibit record energy absorption under quasi‐static conditions and exceptional inelastic energy dissipation under 750 m s−1 ballistics impact, with high performance spanning strain rates of 12 orders of magnitude.

Adaptive Multi-Parameter Estimation of Inertial Stabilization Platform with Unknown Load

open access: yesActuators, 2023
In order to improve the state monitoring and adaptive control capability of inertial stabilization platforms (ISPs) with unknown loads, it is necessary to estimate the dynamic parameters comprehensively online.
