Coherent backscattering spectroscopy
Optics Letters, 2004Coherent backscattering (CBS) of light in random media has been previously investigated by use of coherent light sources. Here we report a novel method of CBS measurement that combines low spatial coherence, broadband illumination, and spectrally resolved detection.

Backscatter directivity and integrated backscatter power of arterial tissue
The International Journal of Cardiac Imaging, 1991A 27 MHz transducer, mounted on an ultrasonic microscope, was used to quantify the dependence of backscatter power on the angle of incidence of arterial vessels. Due to variations in the angle of incidence significant variations in backscatter power were found in the intima, the muscular and elastic media, the adventitia and the external elastic lamina.

The mapping from a potential \(q(x)\) on \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) to the backscattering amplitude \(a(\theta, -\theta, k)\) associated with the Hamiltonian \(- \Delta+ q(x)\) is studied (the backscattering amplitude is a restriction of the scattering amplitude \(a(\theta, \omega, k))\).

Abstract In this chapter, we will concentrate on simulations associated with various aspects of backscattered electrons. We will define backscattered electrons as those incident electrons that are scattered out of the target after suffering deflections through such an angle that they leave the material on the side by which they entered ...
