A variational technique of mollification applied to backward heat conduction problems
This paper addresses a backward heat conduction problem with fractional Laplacian and time-dependent coefficient in an unbounded domain. The problem models generalized diffusion processes and is well-known to be severely ill-posed. We investigate a simple and powerful variational regularization technique based on mollification.

Dense Nanofibrillar Collagen–Silica Hybrids with High Strength and ECM‐Mimetic Tissue Integration
Dense nanofibrillar collagen–silica hybrids are engineered by synchronizing collagen fibrillogenesis with silica condensation, producing printable scaffolds that unexpectedly approach native extracellular matrix organization and strength. These cell‐free constructs guide endogenous cell‐infiltration, enable localized matrix remodeling, and integrate ...

Low-regret control of singular distributed systems: The Ill-posed backwards heat problem
We use the low-regret notion of Lions for the control of a class of singular distributed systems: the ill-posed problems. A regularization approach is applied to the backwards heat equation, and we obtain a problem of incomplete data, for which the method of Nakoulima et al. is developed.

An optimized carbon host nanostructure enables a dual‐interface‐dominant architecture in sulfur cathodes of solid‐state Li‐S batteries by selectively forming sulfur|carbon and sulfur|solid electrolyte interfaces. This tailored interfacial configuration accelerates sulfur redox kinetics by establishing enriched Li+/e– transport networks, while ...

In many references, both the ill-posed and inverse boundary value problems are solved iteratively. The iterative procedures are based on firstly converting the problem into a well-posed one by assuming the missing boundary values.

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

A Time–Space Numerical Procedure for Solving the Sideways Heat Conduction Problem
This paper proposes a solution to the sideways heat conduction problem (SHCP) based on the time and space integration direction. Conventional inverse problems depend highly on the available data, particularly when the observed data are contaminated with ...

Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

It is remarkably known that one of the difficulties encountered in a numerical method for hyperbolic heat conduction equation is the numerical oscillation within the vicinity of jump discontinuities at the wave front.
