Backward Shifts on Banach SpacesC(X)
A backward shift on a Banach space \(E\) is an operator \(T\) with one-dimensional kernel such that the corresponding operator from the quotient of \(E\) by the kernel of \(T\) is an isometry and so that \(\bigcup_{n\geq 1}\text{Ker }T^n\) is dense in \(E\). The authors settle a conjecture of J. R.

Duality of Channel Encoding and Decoding - Part I: Rate-1 Binary Convolutional Codes
In this paper, we revisit the forward, backward and bidirectional Bahl-Cocke-Jelinek-Raviv (BCJR) soft-input soft-output (SISO) maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) decoding process of rate-1 binary convolutional codes.

Comparison of sleep quality based on direction of shift rotation in electronics workers [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Previous studies have reported the effects of direction of shift rotation on sleep, however, the findings are inconsistent. In this study, we investigated sleep quality related to direction of shift rotation using large-scale data from ...

Growth of hypercyclic entire functions for some non-convolution operators
A continuous linear operator TT defined on a Fréchet space XX is said to be hypercyclic if there exists f∈Xf\in X such that, the orbit {Tnf}\left\{{T}^{n}f\right\} is dense in XX. In this article, we consider the operators introduced by Aron and Markose,

Pseudocontinuation and cyclicity for random power series
We prove that a random function in the Hardy space $H^2$ is a non-cyclic vector for the backward shift operator almost surely.

Construction of Algebraic and Difference Equations with a Prescribed Solution Space
This paper studies the solution space of systems of algebraic and difference equations, given as auto-regressive (AR) representations A(σ)β(k) = 0, where σ denotes the shift forward operator and A(σ) is a regular polynomial matrix.

Reverse Doppler effect in backward spin waves scattered on acoustic waves
We report on the observation of reverse Doppler effect in backward spin waves reflected off of surface acoustic waves. The spin waves are excited in a yttrium iron garnet (YIG) film. Simultaneously, acoustic waves are also generated.
