Detecting Antibiotic Resistance in Strains of Selected Gram‐Negative Bacterial Species Using Raman Spectroscopy

Journal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 9, Page 1554-1564, September 2026.
Raman spectroscopy successfully identified antibiotic‐resistant Gram‐negative strains. Resistant strains of four bacterial species were discriminated from sensitive ones with 99.1% accuracy using PLS regression. The method allows for rapid, label‐free detection of antibiotic resistance.

Clinical Molecular Investigation of Encephalitozoon cuniculi in Pet Rabbits: Early Detection of Potential Risk for Animal and Human Infection

This study assesses the presence, genotypes and clinical signs of E. cuniculi infection in pet rabbits in Slovenia. Molecular analysis reveals the presence of E. cuniculi DNA (Genotype I) in 14.98% rabbit urine samples, mostly in rabbits with signs of urinary tract disorders.

This study presents a colourimetric LAMP assay combined with a rapid DNA extraction method for the field detection of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae in poultry. The workflow provides rapid and reliable diagnosis without specialised laboratory equipment, supporting on‐farm disease surveillance and outbreak management.
