Polydopamine‐Antibiotic Composite Coating for Antibiofilm Applications

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, Volume 26, Issue 3, March 2026.
Antibiotic‐loaded polydopamine coatings are developed to combat biofilm‐forming bacteria on catheter surfaces. These coatings strongly inhibit Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation on diverse materials, including during continuous artificial‐urine flow, and can accommodate multiple antibiotics.

No Cystometrogram Among Veterans With Spinal Cord Injury Results in Adverse Urinary System Outcomes

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, Volume 45, Issue 3, Page 494-502, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background A prior study of a large cohort of veterans with supra‐sacral spinal cord injury or disorder (SCI/D) showed, as seen in other cohorts, substantial variation in application of bladder care processes and, specifically in the proportion of patients undergoing cystometrography (CMG). The next step in a systematic evaluation such as this

Development and Validation of a Nomogram for Predicting Urinary Tract Infection After Urodynamic Study

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, Volume 45, Issue 3, Page 559-565, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction The use of antibiotic prophylaxis before urodynamic studies has been debated for a long time, with no clear consensus among international guidelines. Based on identified predictors of urinary tract infection after urodynamic studies, this study aims to develop and internally validate a nomogram to predict post‐urodynamic study ...

Patterns of weight gain during the first half of pregnancy and risk of large newborns in women with insulin‐dependent diabetes mellitus

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Objective To identify patterns of gestational weight gain (pGWG) trajectories in the first 20 weeks of gestation and to determine the association of these patterns with the delivery of large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants among women with insulin‐dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM).

Timing of Intrapartum Antibiotics at Caesarean Section and Risk of Asthma, Eczema and Allergic Rhinitis: Results From a Natural Experiment

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, Volume 133, Issue 4, Page 698-707, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate whether the risk of asthma, eczema and allergic rhinitis at 5 years in children born by caesarean section (CS) differs by the timing of antibiotic administration to the mother (pre‐incision vs. post‐cord clamping). Design Natural experiment using birth cohort data. Setting UK single centre population‐based birth cohort.
