We investigate the question whether the p.q.-Baer center of a ring R can be extended to R. We give several counterexamples to this question and consider some conditions under which the answer may be affirmative.

In this paper we generalize the notion of pure injectivity of modules by introducing what we call a pure Baer injective module. Some properties and some characterization of such modules are established.

Endomorphisms and Product Bases of the Baer-Specker Group
The endomorphism ring of the group of all sequences of integers, the Baer-Specker group, is isomorphic to the ring of row finite infinite matrices over the integers.

Anillos separables, de baer y pp-anillos
Keimel introduced the notion of proyectability in the class of lattice-ordered rings and f-rings in [5]. Here we introduce a similar notion forgeting the lattice and ordered structure of the ring and interpretating the orthogonality within the ...

All rings in this paper are commutative rings with unit. For an element a of a ring R denote by \((a)^{\perp}\) the annihilator of the principal ideal (a). If \((a)^{\perp}=(e)\) for some idempotent e of R then e is unique and \(a^ 0\) denotes the element 1-e.

Objective The study aimed to identify symptom‐based predictors of dry eye disease (DED) signs in the Sjögren's International Collaborative Clinical Alliance (SICCA) cohort. Methods We performed a retrospective analysis examining 16 ocular symptoms (most graded 0–4) and artificial tear (AT) use (graded 0–3) as predictors of DED signs (abnormal ocular ...

Remarks on type I Baer and Baer ∗-rings
This paper is concerned with Kaplansky’s theory of Baer and Baer *-rings, specifically with the problem of classifying type I factors. We use the terminology in Kaplansky’s book [3]. Ornstein [9] calls the pair of dual vector spaces V, W splittable if in either V or W every closed subspace admits a closed complement such that the annihilators span the ...

Abstract Background The aim of the study is to report clinical outcomes of autogenous tooth transplantation (ATT) of fully developed third molars following the extraction of periodontally hopeless teeth as a part of the treatment of a stage III, grade C, molar‐incisor pattern (MIP) periodontitis case.

On rings of real valued clopen continuous functions
Among variant kinds of strong continuity in the literature, the clopen continuity or cl-supercontinuity (i.e., inverse image of every open set is a union of clopen sets) is considered in this paper.

Energy Landscapes in Chemical Reactions and Transport
Kinetics/dynamics of chemical reactivity and transport of chemical species in a solid are both determined by the energy landscape in which they take place. Discussing common grounds but also distinct differences may help in advancing the understanding in both fields.
