Comparative evaluation of naphthalene 1,2‑dioxygenase effect on the productivity of indole‑3‑acetic acid synthesis and the growth-stimulating activity of Pseudomonas spp.

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Естественные науки
Rhizobacteria synthesizing indole‑3‑acetic acid (IAA) are often used to stimulate plant growth. To enhance IAA production by the rhizospheric bacterium Pseudomonas baetica MGMM504 during the growth on a tryptophan medium, a plasmid encoding naphthalene 1,

Mapping wild bee diversity and flower use for an effective conservation of the Doñana biodiversity hotspot

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
We compiled the first checklist of wild bees in Doñana Protected Area, documenting 385 species, including three vulnerable and one endangered species listed in the Red List. Bee species exhibit diverse floral preferences, highlighting the need to incorporate plant–pollinator interactions and the role of plants in conservation and management strategies ...

Diversity of flies visiting and pollinating flowers of the Southern African genus Riocreuxia (Apocynaceae: Ceropegieae, Anisotominae)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract The subtribe Stapeliinae (Apocynaceae: Asclepiadoideae) contains ca. 720 species and, with fly pollination being ubiquitous in the group, appears to have diversified without shifts between major groups of pollinators. In contrast, the sister subtribe Anisotominae, which only has ca.

Investigating the Impacts of Tillage and Cover Crop Management on Soil Compaction in Long‐Term Agricultural Production Sites Using a Home‐Built Dynamic Penetrometer

open access: yesSoil Use and Management, Volume 42, Issue 2, April‐June 2026.
ABSTRACT Agricultural management produces soil compaction depending on intensity of use, specific management and soil properties. We used an adapted, home‐built dynamic penetrometer to evaluate 20 long‐term sites of arable land, tree orchards, vineyards and grassland in Europe and China, each with different tillage and cover crop strategies.

Effectiveness of herbivore exclusion fences for plant conservation depends on management strategy and landscape context

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
Fences are widely used to restrict or reduce grazing pressure on endangered plant species or communities, and to ultimately ensure their viability. Here, we evaluate what factors determine their effectiveness at a regional scale by assessing ungulate detection (presence/absence) within exclosures and discuss its ecological and conservation implications.
