Preparation of fine, hollow, spherical BaFe12O19 powders

Abstract Aerosol droplets of a 2 wt% aqueous solution of Ba and Fe(III) nitrates were used to prepare fine Ba-ferrite powders by pyrolysis at temperatures 800 K and 1300 K. The particles are spherical with a mean size of 0.1 μm, with the constituent nanocrystals taking on a characteristic hollow structure.

Nuclear magnetic resonance of 57Fe in BaFe12O19

Abstract The nuclear magnetic resonance of 57 Fe has been studied in powdered single crystals of BaFe 12 O 19 using a spin-echo technique. Hyperfine fields associated with the various crystallographically inequivalent lattice sites have been identified.
