Climate Gradients Underlie Geographical Variations in iWUE and δ15N Values of Encelia

Variations in the intrinsic water use efficiency and nitrogen isotope ratios of the desert shrub Encelia are associated with climate. Higher intrinsic water use efficiencies are associated with drier climates, whereas higher nitrogen isotope ratios are associated with warmer year‐round temperatures.
