Fotorreflectancia a Baja Temperatura en GaInAsSb/GaSb

open access: yes, 2005

Local climate and genetic influence on intraspecific variation in torpor physiology of a cave‐roosting bat

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 857-867, April 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Many small endotherms employ torpor as a survival strategy to reduce energy expenditure during periods with low food availability and cold temperatures. The expression and physiology of torpor can vary substantially within species because of phenotypic plasticity and ...

Amphibians' Expansion to Record Elevations Influences Chytrid (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis) Infection Dynamics

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
Peruvian frogs underwent a climate‐driven range expansion into deglaciating mountains, exposing themselves and their fungal pathogen Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) to challenging new thermal environments. Bd has dispersed extensively in these new habitats, and elevation may mediate the apparent sublethal impacts of infection for frogs.

Expansión y recambio foliar de gramíneas perennes C4 creciendo a temperaturas moderadamente bajas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Understanding the mechanisms by which some C4 grasses grow more than others at moderately low temperatures (~12-20°C) is valuable to select materials to lengthen the growing season. In turn, the determination of leaf lifespan for each material to be used

Vulnerability of marine megafauna to global at‐sea anthropogenic threats

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Marine megafauna species are affected by a wide range of anthropogenic threats. To evaluate the risk of such threats, species’ vulnerability to each threat must first be determined. We build on the existing threats classification scheme and ranking system of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened ...

Transport mechanism through metal-cobaltite interfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The resistive switching (RS) properties as a function of temperature were studied for Ag/La$_{1-x}$Sr$_x$CoO$_3$ (LSCO) interfaces. The LSCO is a fully-relaxed 100 nm film grown by metal organic deposition on a LaAlO$_3$ substrate.

Grazing and climate interact to regulate greening trends in Mediterranean grasslands

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 1, January 2026.
Our results show that traditional grazing systems can maintain grassland stability without causing degradation, but they can also increase the ecosystem's vulnerability to climate change. We provide clear evidence that GPS‐based livestock monitoring is a powerful and scalable tool for sustainable rangeland management.
