Phytoplankton beta diversity along cascade reservoirs of the Tocantins River is shaped by reservoir age, spatial arrangement, and environmental conditions. Younger, distant reservoirs show higher diversity, while intermediate ones tend toward homogenization. Environmental and spatial drivers differentially influence taxonomic and functional composition.
