Designs for balanced observation of plant competition
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1979Abstract Symmetric designs, for exploring the effect of competition between two varieties or plant species planted on a triangular lattice of hill plots, are discussed and the class of m-fold symmetric Beehive designs, based on certain symmetry properties of a regular hexagon, is introduced.

Balance of power – dynamic regulation of chromatin in plant development
bchm, 2009Abstract Chromatin states profoundly determine and maintain gene activity and gene repression in eukaryotic organisms. Regulation of chromatin involves chromatin remodeling, chromatin modifications and exchange of chromatin components and is linked to DNA methylation in some cases.

Root-Shoot Balance of Hevea Planting Materials
1991The root:shoot ratio (RSR) and allometric relationship between shoot and root growth of several monoclonal seedlings of Hevea brasiliensis were studied. The influence of different propagation techniques on these relationships were assessed. RSR for the different clonal seedlings ranged from 0.31-0.65.

Responses of eggplant to drought. I. Plant water balance
Scientia Horticulturae, 1977Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is known to have a higher resistance to drought than have other vegetables. Studies were made to see whether this property can be explained by its physiological responses. Water was withheld from plants and measurements were made of sap osmotic potential (ψos), leaf pressure potential (ψp), stomatal diffusive resistance ...

Material Balance of a Construction Waste Sorting Plant
Waste Management & Research, 1993Abstract The use and stock of construction materials has increased by two orders of magnitude over the past century. The composition of construction materials changes constantly, with the content of synthetic organic compounds and aluminium increasing since the 1940s.

Carbon balance of PGR-IV treated cotton plants
1995Vita. ; A new plant growth regulator PGR-IV is made of a fermentation broth of soil bacteria, yeast, and fungi that contains gibberellic acid and indolebutyric acid in a nutrient solution blend. This growth regulator has been tested in cotton over the last 10 years and has been reported to enhance the capacity of the plant to sustain growth under ...
