Bacterial Ghosts as Innovative Transport Vehicles for Platinum‐Based Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 12, 26 June 2026.
Bacterial ghosts (BGs), empty envelopes of Gram‐negative E. coli, are introduced as versatile carriers for platinum anticancer drugs. Oxaliplatin (OXA) shows high loading, stability, and reproducible encapsulation, while retaining full cytotoxicity in vitro.

Listening to Bryde's Whales With an Island Seismometer: Low‐Frequency Call Detection and Seasonal Patterns Revealed by Deep Learning

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract Bryde's whales form a major coastal aggregation in the Beibu Gulf, China. Using 1 year of continuous island‐based seismic recordings from Xieyang Island, we established a large labeled data set of coastal Bryde's whale calls with more than 1.7 million samples.

Tropical Pacific Variability Drives Quasi‐Decadal Sea Ice Fluctuations Off East Greenland

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract The sea ice off East Greenland exhibits pronounced quasi‐decadal fluctuations superimposed on its long‐term decline. Here we show that this low‐frequency variability is tightly phase‐coherent with tropical Pacific quasi‐decadal variability (TPQD), revealing a teleconnection from the tropics to the Arctic.

One Year of Outdoor Performance of Perovskite/Perovskite/Silicon Triple‐Junction Solar Cell

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 10, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
We present a full‐year outdoor results of the first triple‐junction perovskite/perovskite/silicon solar cells. The seasonal variation is mostly caused by poor low light performance, which is suppressed in the picture by focusing on data obtained at 500 W/m2.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 46, 8 June 2026.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Hierarchical Structure and Fabrication of Functionally Graded Biointerfaces in the Mussel Byssus

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 12, 23 June 2026.
The byssus is a fibrous protein‐based holdfast consisting of mechanically distinct interfaces, which mussels use to anchor their soft living tissue to hard seashore surfaces. Here, multiscale methodologies were used to elucidate the compositional and structural features underlying these functionally graded interfaces and how they are fabricated through
