Eosinophils play a crucial role in the progression of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA). This study demonstrates that eosinophils, induced by OVA/IL‐5, promote Lumican secretion in the synovium, which binds to Annexin A1 in chondrocytes, inhibiting transforming growth factor β2 and Smad2/3 phosphorylation.

Sustainable Pathways for the Synthesis of Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate
Calcium sulfate hemihydrate (bassanite) plays a key role in construction as a hydraulic binder. Due to its instability in water, industrial production primarily relies on thermal dehydration of gypsum. This review examines alternative, potentially more sustainable methods for the synthesis of bassanite, including gypsum conversion at lower temperatures

Myological and osteological approaches to gape and bite force reconstruction in Smilodon fatalis
Abstract Masticatory gape and bite force are important behavioral and ecological variables. While much has been written about the highly derived masticatory anatomy of Smilodon fatalis, there remains a great deal of debate about their masticatory behaviors.

OccCasNet: Occlusion-aware Cascade Cost Volume for Light Field Depth Estimation [PDF]
Light field (LF) depth estimation is a crucial task with numerous practical applications. However, mainstream methods based on the multi-view stereo (MVS) are resource-intensive and time-consuming as they need to construct a finer cost volume. To address this issue and achieve a better trade-off between accuracy and efficiency, we propose an occlusion ...

Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) is widely applied for inferring diet in vertebrates. Besides diet and ingesta properties, factors like wear stage and bite force may affect microwear formation, potentially leading to tooth position‐specific microwear patterns.

Semantic decomposition Network with Contrastive and Structural Constraints for Dental Plaque Segmentation [PDF]
Segmenting dental plaque from images of medical reagent staining provides valuable information for diagnosis and the determination of follow-up treatment plan. However, accurate dental plaque segmentation is a challenging task that requires identifying teeth and dental plaque subjected to semantic-blur regions (i.e., confused boundaries in border ...

Restoration of human tooth enamel
Human tooth enamel has remarkable properties but lacks self‐repair ability. Existing restorative materials cannot fully replicate enamel's microstructure and function, resulting in low restorative efficiency. This review summarizes the formation process and characteristics of enamel, and current restorative materials and future research directions are ...

Angle Class I malocclusion treated with lower incisor extraction
In planning orthodontic cases that include extractions as an alternative to solve the problem of negative space discrepancy, the critical decision is to determine which teeth will be extracted.
