Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

On the Parameters and Intersection of Blocks of Balanced Incomplete Block Designs

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1962
In this investigation we derive a few properties of the intersection of blocks in a balanced incomplete block (b.i.b. for conciseness) design with parameters $v, b, r, k, \lambda$ and discuss the divisibility of $v$ by $k$. The last section deals with certain characteristic properties of symmetric and affine resolvable b.i.b. designs.

Immunoinflammatory Mechanisms and Biocompatibility of Bioactive Dental Biomaterials: From Fundamental Insights to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Balanced Incomplete Block Design with Control Treatment

open access: yes, 2018
The theory of design and analysis of experiments has been primarily developed by statisticians engaged mostly in agricultural research. The theory has now found applications in other fields of research, because it is based on general principles ...

On balanced incomplete block designs with blocks having five elements

open access: yes, 1972
It is proved that for balanced incomplete block designs with blocks having five elements each (k = 5) the known necessary existence condition is also sufficient, with the exception of the non-existing design λ = 2, v ...

Adaptable Covalent Organic Framework‐Hydrogel Microneedles for Glucose‐Responsive Isoliquiritigenin Delivery in Diabetic Wound Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a covalent organic framework‐loaded Traditional Chinese Medicine monomer nanodrug delivery system (ISL@bCOF) via boron‐oxygen bonds, a smart response to glucose for delivering AI‐driven isoliquiritigenin (ISL) targeting ZBP1. This dynamic release mechanism, combined with transdermal delivery technology via potent microneedles, can modulate ...

Analysis of variance of a balanced incomplete block design with missing observations

open access: yes, 1960
The problem considered in this paper is that of estimating several missing values and analyzing the resulting augmented data in a balanced incomplete block design. The estimates are obtained by Yates' procedure of minimizing the error sum of squares.

Natural Biomaterials for Osteochondral Repair: From Source to Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biological origin‐guided overview of natural biomaterials and therapeutic strategies for osteochondral tissue engineering. The circular diagram categorizes representative materials and strategies into plant/algae‐derived, microbial‐derived, animal‐derived, and human‐derived sources, centered on an osteochondral defect repair model.

Balanced incomplete block designs with block size 9: part II

open access: yes, 2004
The necessary conditions for the existence of a balanced incomplete block design on v points, with index λ and block size k, are that λ(v−1)≡0mod(k−1),λv(v−1)≡0modk(k−1). In this paper we study k=9 with λ=3, 6 and 12.
