A Balanced Wideband Filtering Phase Shifter With High Frequency Selectivity

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications
ABSTRACT A balanced wideband filtering phase shifter is achieved by utilizing a cascaded structure composed of two half‐wavelength transmission lines, two T‐type short‐circuited stub‐loaded transmission lines, and a ring structure constructed by a capacitor and a terminal short‐circuited coupled line.

An inductorless electrical-balance 360° phase shifter for 0.5–1.15GHz in 0.18μm CMOS

2015 10th European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC), 2015
This paper presents an integrated phase shifter based on electrical-balance operation. The phase shift of the circuit is set through the difference in impedance between two on-chip tunable impedances. Each impedance consists of a parallel combination of a tunable resistor and a tunable capacitor.

Magnetic balanced phase shifter for polyphase supply

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1974
A novel method of balanced firing of thyristors used for polyphase supply is presented. The phase angles of the polyphase voltages are shifted simultaneously by controlling a phase shifter of a single phase. A simple feedback circuit including a saturable core and an integrator plays a key role in this balanced phase shifter.

Balanced Wideband Phase Shifters With Wide Phase Shift Range and Good Common-Mode Suppression

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2019
This paper proposes a class of balanced wideband phase shifters with wide phase shift range and good common-mode (CM) suppression. Both the balanced filtering units in the reference and main branches consist of horizontal half-wavelength branches and vertical quarter-wavelength loaded stubs but with dissimilar sizes.

Balanced Wideband Phase Shifters With Good Filtering Property and Common-Mode Suppression

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2019
In this paper, a class of balanced wideband phase shifters with good filtering property and common-mode (CM) suppression is proposed, synthetically designed, and implemented. Unlike the conventional coupled-line reference branch one, the proposed balanced phase shifter has its T-shaped structure in both of main and reference branches, so as to achieve ...

Balanced detection for spectral-domain optical coherence tomography with fiber-based phase shifter

Optical Fibers and Sensors for Medical Diagnostics and Treatment Applications XVIII, 2018
We present a balanced detection method for spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) using a fiberoptic phase shifter. SD-OCT systems typically use a single line scan camera to detect the spectrogram, and noninterfered signals are not excluded from the recorded signal. That limits dynamic range and reduces image quality.

Generalized Topology and Synthesis Design of Balanced Wideband Phase Shifters with Common-Mode Suppression

2019 IEEE Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2019
This paper proposes the generalized topology and synthesis design method for the wideband balanced phase shifters with common-mode (CM) suppression. By utilizing of the open-and short-circuited stub-loaded T-shaped structure, high CM rejection and good differential-mode (DM) filtering property can be simultaneously achieved.

Phase noise suppression for RF signal remote fiber transmission using phase balance compensation feedback network in phase shifter

Optik, 2019
Abstract We propose a phase noise suppression scheme for RF signal remote fiber transmission based on a photonic phase shifter. Phase noise induced by the temperature variation and mechanical perturbation is suppressed automatically and effectively through a feedback network.

S-band active phased array antenna with analog phase shifters using double-balanced mixers for mobile SATCOM vehicles

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2005
We propose an S-band active phased array antenna (APAA) with analog phase shifters (PSs) that use double-balanced mixers (DBMs). The quadrature phase shift keying modulator integrated circuits (ICs) used as the phase shifters can control both the amplitude and phase of the input signal continuously and independently by using the control voltages.
