Groundwater Pollution Concentration Estimation with Modified Kalman Filter Method

open access: yesCauchy: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Aplikasi
Groundwater quality is very important for human health. Estimation of groundwater pollution concentration to determine groundwater quality is necessary. The concentration of groundwater pollution is estimated using the modified Kalman filter method.

A Versatile‐Designable Framework for Active and Programmable Shape‐Morphing Soft Matter Systems: From Inverse Design to Closed‐Loop Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A versatile framework integrates addressable electrothermal actuation and strain‐constraint mechanisms to construct programmable shape‐morphing soft matter systems. By combining an analytical inverse design strategy for high‐fidelity 3D surface reconstruction with deep learning‐based closed‐loop control, this approach enables zero‐energy shape locking,

Whole‐Genome Sequencing Pilot of the Central Asian Genomic Diversity Project Reveals Distinct Histories, Adaptation, and Introgression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a pilot phase of the Central Asian Genomic Diversity Project, whole‐genome sequencing of 166 individuals from 20 Central Asian and Afghan Hazara populations reveals fine‐scale substructure shaped by repeated trans‐Eurasian migration and admixture. Integrated analyses uncover post‐admixture adaptation, archaic introgression, and medically relevant ...

Data-driven implementations of various generalizations of balanced truncation

open access: yesComputational and Applied Mathematics
Quadrature-based approximation of Gramians in standard balanced truncation yields a non-intrusive, data-driven implementation that requires only transfer function samples on the imaginary axis, which can be measured experimentally. This idea has recently been extended to several generalizations of balanced truncation, including positive-real balanced ...

Harnessing Large‐Scale Multi‐Omics Data for Risk Prediction and Deep Phenotyping of Valvular Heart Diseases in the General Population

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Large‐scale UK Biobank analyses identify clinical and proteomic signatures for early prediction of valvular heart disease and its subtypes. Proteins add predictive value for VHD, AVS, and MVR, with outcome‐specific compact panels showing translational potential. Multi‐layer evidence highlights matrix remodeling, protease regulation, immune inflammation,

Hexagonal Boron Nitride on Liquid and Single‐Crystal Copper: Operando X‐Ray and Atomistic Insights into Growth and Interfacial Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liquid metal catalysts are widely assumed to promote high‐quality 2D growth. In this work, operando experiments and machine‐learning‐accelerated simulations show that hBN on Cu breaks this graphene‐derived expectation, where molten Cu promotes multilayer/3D growth, but re‐solidified single‐crystal Cu stabilizes monolayer formation.

Psychological Stress Associated Bile Acid Reprogramming Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Depression is increasingly recognized as a risk factor for chronic diseases, yet its biological impact on cancer remains unclear. Using data from more than 490 000 participants across three international cohorts, we show that depression significantly increases the risk of liver cancer.

CXCL10/SLC11A1 Axis Exacerbates Septic Liver Injury by Regulating Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation to Drive Macrophage Pro‑Inflammatory Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In sepsis‐induced liver injury, marked neutrophil infiltration correlates with disease severity. Neutrophil SLC11A1 drives intracellular Fe2+ and ROS via the Fenton reaction, promoting NETs formation. Hepatocyte‐derived CXCL10 recruits neutrophils and activates the JAK/STAT1/SLC11A1 axis, enhancing NETs‐mediated inflammation.

PFKFB4 Deubiquitination by USP10 Enhances Fumarate Metabolism to Orchestrate the KDM1A/Rad51 Axis and Confer Radioresistance in Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
USP10 binds to and stabilizes PFKFB4, enhancing glycolytic ATP production, which activates the urea cycle and elevates fumarate. This inhibits histone demethylase KDM1A, leading to increased H3K4me1 enrichment at the Rad51 promoter and direct activation of Rad51 transcription, which confers lung cancer radioresistance. The PFKFB4 inhibitor 5MPN targets

Model order reduction of boiler system using nature-inspired metaheuristic optimization of PID controller

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Boiler system control presents significant challenges due to its complex, high-order dynamics, which make real-time control computationally demanding. Traditional model order reduction (MOR) techniques often compromise system accuracy, while conventional
