ABSTRACT Multisystemic smooth muscle dysfunction syndrome (MSMDS) is an ultra‐rare, ACTA2‐related disorder characterized by severe cerebrovascular disease, aortic aneurysms, and smooth muscle dysfunction. Using molecular dynamics simulations and in silico drug screening, we identified that sapropterin dihydrochloride (Kuvan) is a candidate capable of ...

Bar chart ball, a data game. [PDF]
We describe Bar Chart Ball, a game where players indirectly control a ball by modifying a bar chart that the ball rests on. The bar chart displays real-world demographic data about the UK, and the player modifies the chart by selecting which aspect of the data to focus on.

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Ball Bar Measurement on Machine Tools with Rotary Axes
A ball bar is a very convenient device for measuring the motion accuracy of machine tools. Some trials have also been done for measuring motion accuracy of industrial robots. Nowadays, multi-axis machines such as five-axis machining centers are very popular, and therefore, there is increased demand for checking their accuracy.

Development and Error Analysis of 3D Laser Tracking Ball Bar [PDF]
As a high-precision measuring instrument, laser tracker is widely used in the field of geometric error detection of CNC machine tools. However, the employment of this laser tracker will lead to high cost as well as low measurement accuracy caused by the angle error.
