Localized carriers formed under thermodynamic non‐equilibrium states modify atomistic interactions and drive lattice distortions, accelerating device degradation.

Magnesium‐Retention Assisted Synthesis of High‐Performance Zintl Thermoelectrics
Angewandte Chemie, EarlyView.Mg volatilization and chemical instability during high‐temperature synthesis hinder the scalable fabrication of Mg‐based thermoelectrics. Here, a magnesium‐retention assisted synthesis (MRAS) strategy stabilizes Mg using a sacrificial Mg reservoir and an inert‐gas‐regulated melting environment.

Advanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.As demand for Li‐ion batteries grows, Mn‐rich disordered rocksalt (DRX) oxides offer a sustainable, low‐cost alternative to scarce Ni and Co. During cycling, Mn‐rich DRX materials transform into a partial spinel‐like phase (𝛿) that improves rate capability and capacity.
