Scale up and simulation of Vertimill™ pilot test operated with copper ore
Vertimill™ has been used in regrind circuits during the past years due to its greater efficiency when compared to the conventional tube ball mill. This paper presents the Vertimill™ pilot grinding tests with a sample of copper ore carried out in closed ...

Modeling Impulsive Ball Mill Forces Effects on the Dynamic Behavior of a Single-Stage Gearbox
Gearboxes are frequently used in the mining industry, especially for power transmission between the electric drive and the ball mill; besides the extreme complexity of a ball mill gear transmission system, the fault diagnosis by vibration analysis can be

Ball milling pretreatment of oil palm biomass for enhancing enzymatic hydrolysis [PDF]
Oil palm biomass, namely empty fruit bunch and frond fiber, were pretreated using a planetary ball mill. Particle sizes and crystallinity index values of the oil palm biomass were significantly reduced with extended ball mill processing time.

A Ball‐Milling‐Enabled Reformatsky Reaction
AbstractAn operationally simple one‐jar one‐step mechanochemical Reformatsky reaction using in situ generated organozinc intermediates under neat grinding conditions has been developed. Notable features of this reaction protocol are that it requires no solvent, no inert gases, and no pre‐activation of the bulk zinc source.

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
