Vertical Sediment of a Ballastless Track

2020
At the Experimental ring of JSC “VNIIZHT” at Shcherbinka station, the comparative tests of four types of ballastless structures of the LVT track (Russian Railways, Russia), FFB (MaxBogl, Germany), NBT (Alstom. France), EBS (Tines, Poland) had been completed.

SOLUTIONS FOR ACOUSTICAL PROBLEMS WITH BALLASTLESS TRACK

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2000
Ballastless track has higher sound emissions compared to ballasted track due to the reduced connecting impedance for the rail, the reduced vibration decay rates along the rail and the reduced absorption. A study using a simulation tool for the prediction of sound for trains led to a proposal for an acoustical innovative ballastless track design (AIFF).

Investigations into the Critical Speeds in Ballasted and Ballastless Track

2021
The modern high-speed railway usually consists of track structure, subgrade and soil layers. The existence of track structure and subgrade can both improve the critical speed of railway especially when the railway is built on soft soil layers. However, the role that the track structure played hasn’t been distinguished from subgrade.

A case study of China on the ballastless track

Transport and Communications Science Journal
Ballastless track systems have become a cornerstone of modern high-speed railway (HSR) infrastructure due to their superior long-term performance, structural stability, and reduced maintenance requirements. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the development and technological innovations in ballastless track structures, with a focused case ...

State-of-the-Art of Ballastless Track at-Grade

Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE, 1976
Ballastless track support structures are regarded as possible solutions to the problems of track maintenance and the research and development of these structures is reviewed. The new types of structures include ties embedded in concrete slabs and also beams. These structures are cast-in-place, precast, and slip formed.

Influence of Track Irregularities in the Stress Levels of the Ballasted and Ballastless Tracks

2020
The ballasted and ballastless tracks present substantial differences in terms of the structural configuration and mechanical behaviour. In order to better understand the foundation performance, numerical analysis of the two types of railway track was carried out, computing the stress paths induced by the passage of trains. In this analysis, the effects

Dynamic Characteristics of Subgrade Bed for Ballastless Track

IACGE 2013, 2013
In order to study the characteristics of dynamic stress in subgrade bed, a large-scale ballastless track dynamic model test was made based on the Suining-Chongqing high-speed railway. The results indicate that the dynamic stress has an uneven distribution along subgrade cross-section, and the unevenness is more and more obvious as the dynamic loading ...

Dynamic Responses of Ballastless Track with Damaged Cracks

International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009, 2009
In order to calculate the dynamic responses of damaged cracked slab track subjected to moving vehicular loads, a finite element model was established to represent the rail and the ballastless bed. The rail was modeled as linear viscoelastic discretely supported beam, while the ballastless bed was treated as linear viscoelastic continuously supported ...

Analysis of Dynamic Behavior for Ballastless Track-Bridge with a Hybrid Method

Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, 2014
A hybrid method combining finite element method (FEM) and statistical energy analysis (SEA) was recently presented for predicting the steady-state response of vibro-acoustic systems. Based on the structural characteristics of vehicle-CRTS II ballastless track-bridge system, the hybrid method of vehicle-track-bridge elements was presented.
