Problem of the reference height of the projectile trajectory as a reduced meteo-ballistic weighting factor

open access: yesDefence Technology, 2014
This paper deals with the issue of preparation of the aiming angles with the use of tabular firing tables and needed determination of the ballistic elements μB (ballistic wind wB, wxB, wZB, ballistic (virtual) temperature τB, ballistic density ρB) from ...

Analytical model of 1D Carbon-based Schottky-Barrier Transistors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Nanotransistors typically operate in far-from-equilibrium (FFE) conditions, that cannot be described neither by drift-diffusion, nor by purely ballistic models.

Direct observation of shift and ballistic photovoltaic currents

open access: yesScience Advances, 2019
Shift and ballistic photovoltaic currents, previously indistinguishable experimentally, can now be separated. The quantum phenomenon of shift photovoltaic current was predicted decades ago, but this effect was never observed directly because shift and ...

Strategies for Enhancing Thermal Conductivity of PDMS in Electronic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review explores effective strategies for enhancing heat dissipation in Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)‐based composites, focusing on particle optimization, 3D network design, and multifunctional integration. It offers key insights into cutting‐edge methods and simulations that are advancing thermal management in modern electronic devices.

Mechanical analysis of helmeted headforms under ballistic impact with implications in performance evaluation of ballistic helmets

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2023
Behind helmet blunt trauma is a significant health concern in modern warfare. The ballistic response of the human head under ballistic impact is highly sought. Towards this end, we conducted ballistic experiments on three different headforms.

Quantum Transport in a Nanosize Silicon-on-Insulator Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor

open access: yes, 2003
An approach is developed for the determination of the current flowing through a nanosize silicon-on-insulator (SOI) metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFET).

Initial Distance‐Dependent Mean Force Drives Synaptic Vesicle Motion Toward Fusion Sites in Stimulated Hippocampal Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synaptic vesicle (SV) motion and exocytosis dynamics in the presynaptic terminals of live neurons are intimately linked to synaptic transmission during neuronal activity. In this work, it is revealed that, during electrical stimulation, SVs located farther from their fusion sites exhibit greater straightness and experience larger mean forces directed ...

Programmable Nanoscale Motion via Molecular Patterning on DNA Origami

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
DNA origami nanorods enable precise urease placement with tunable coverage and asymmetry, revealing that propulsion depends on a balance of catalytic loading and geometry. Maximum speed occurs at ∼25% end‐coverage and declines as enzyme distribution becomes more symmetrical.

Magneto-dielectric properties of doped ferrite based nanosized ceramics over very high frequency range

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal, 2016
In the present study, indium doped nano sized nickel zinc cobalt based ferrite ceramics with composition Ni0.5Zn0.3Co0.2InxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.2 and 0.4) were synthesized by a co-precipitation technique.

Ballistic and hydrodynamic magnetotransport in narrow channels [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical review B, 2019
An increasing number of low carrier density materials exhibit a surprisingly large transport mean free path due to inefficient momentum relaxation. Consequently, charge transport in these systems is markedly non-ohmic but rather ballistic or hydrodynamic,
