Kinetic Compensation of Barrel Launch Under High‐Speed Solid‐Phase Particulate Impacts
ABSTRACT An accurate launch‐dynamics computational method is critical for barrel weapon service life assessment and multiphase physics field refinement. Given the lack of studies on the solid‐phase buildup behavior at the projectile base, this paper provides an improved method for calculating the launching dynamics under high pressure and high speed ...

Study of the influence of hornification treatment and jute and mallow fiber length on the physical, thermal, and mechanical properties of recycled polypropylene (PP) composites. ABSTRACT The growing accumulation of plastic waste has driven its reuse in the development of new composites, with natural fibers emerging as promising reinforcements. However,

Influence of electron scatterings on thermoelectric effect
In this work, we employed non-equilibrium Green's function to investigate the electron transport properties in the nanowire with the presence of scatterings. The scattering mechanism is modelled by using the concept of B\"uttiker probe.

ABSTRACT We examine the new energetic plasticizer 3‐(2‐(2‐(2‐azidoethoxy)ethoxy)ethoxy)‐4‐nitro‐1,2,5‐oxadiazole (NFPEG3N3), three reference compounds (BDNPA/F, Bu‐NENA, and DNDA‐57), and a plasticizer‐free control in a fixed HMX/GAP composite. NFPEG3N3 provides the strongest low‐temperature properties, yielding the lowest formulation glass transition ...

Development of impact resistant boron/aluminum composites for turbojet engine fan blades [PDF]
Composite fabrication was performed by vacuum press diffusion bonding by both the foil-filament array and preconsolidated monotape methods. The effect of matrix material, fiber diameter, matrix enhancement, fiber volume reinforcement, test temperature ...

Analysis of Possible Quantum Metastable States in Ballistic Graphene-based Josephson Junctions
Graphene is a relatively new material (2004) made of atomic layers of carbon arranged in a honeycomb lattice. Josephson junction devices are made from graphene by depositing two parallel superconducting leads on a graphene flake.

A two‐step approach based on broad‐beam ion irradiation is demonstrated to produce fine‐tuned self‐assembled surface patterns on MgO(001). It shows an efficient route to modifying the crystalline MgO(001) surface topography in a controlled way, making use of its very specific behavior in terms of both the pattern morphology and patterning dynamics.

High performance ammonium nitrate propellant [PDF]
A high performance propellant having greatly reduced hydrogen chloride emission is presented. It is comprised of: (1) a minor amount of hydrocarbon binder (10-15%), (2) at least 85% solids including ammonium nitrate as the primary oxidizer (about 40% to ...
