HSPICE implementation of a numerically efficient model of CNT transistor

open access: yes
This paper presents the algorithms of an implementation of a numerically efficient carbon nanotube transistor (CNT) model in HSPICE. The model is derived from cubic spline non-linear approximation of the non-equilibrium mobile charge density.

Defect Engineering in Two‐Dimensional Materials: Writing, Characterization, and Device Function

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Defect engineering in 2D materials is evolving from defect control to defect‐defined device design. This review presents a unified framework linking controllable defect writing, multimodal defect characterization, and defect‐enabled functionality, highlighting how defect type, spatial distribution, and chemical environment govern electronic ...

Ceres' Salty Ices: Sublimation‐Driven Evolution From Water Ice Exposures to Na‐Carbonate Deposits

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The dwarf planet Ceres hosts nine geologically recent water ice exposures revealed by NASA's Dawn mission. We investigated the 0.04–11 km2 sites using visible imagery and infrared (1.0–4.3 μm) reflectance spectroscopy. Ice occurrence was mapped, and its abundance, grain size, and mixing mode with local regolith were constrained with Hapke ...

Mapping the Western Jezero Crater Rim From Orbit: Connections to Regional Geologic Units and Context for Exploration by the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The Mars 2020 rover is currently traversing the western rim of Jezero, a Middle to Late Noachian‐aged crater formed by an impactor that struck the northwest edge of Isidis Planitia (hereafter referred to as the Isidis basin) on Mars. Previous studies suggest that pre‐Isidis basin and Noachian outcrops are preserved throughout this region ...

Degradation Rate and Lifetime of Small Impact Craters on the Moon

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 7, October 2026.
Abstract Knowledge of crater degradation rates on the Moon is fundamental for dating individual craters, understanding material transport, and investigating crater equilibrium, with broader implications for water ice exploration, regolith evolution, and impact flux reconstruction.

Calibration Method of Empirical Atmospheric Density Based on Physics‐Informed Neural Networks

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Thermospheric density is a critical parameter for low Earth orbit satellite applications, including orbit prediction, collision risk assessment, and atmospheric drag analysis. However, empirical atmospheric density models exhibit significant uncertainties under disturbed space weather conditions, while purely data‐driven approaches may not ...

Common inputs to motor units are modulated by force profile and muscle length

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 10, Page 4876-4893, 1 October 2026.
Abstract Groups of motor units receive common synaptic inputs from specialized networks of premotor neurons to produce movement. Here, we test whether common inputs received by motor units in the first dorsal interosseous are fixed or task‐dependent during submaximal isometric contractions.

Ballistic testing of transparent armour ceramics

open access: yesJournal of the European Ceramic Society, 2009
The testing methodology for transparent armour is described. The focus of this paper is on the assessment of the protective strength of transparent ceramics being used in transparent armour systems. Not only the ballistic testing method but also experimental techniques which allow the visualization of damage and the projectile penetration are discussed.

The ballistic range and aerothermodynamic testing

15th Aerodynamic Testing Conference, 1988
A renewed interest in hypervelocity vehicles requires an increase in our knowledge of aerothermodynamic phenomena. Tests conducted in our ground-based facilities can be used both to better understand the physics of hypervelocity flight, and to calibrate and validate computer codes designed to predict vehicle performance in the hypervelocity environment.
