Electrical Transport of Nb‐Doped MoS2 Homojunction P–N Diode: Investigating NDR and Avalanche Effect

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 9, 12 February 2026.
Niobium (Nb)‐doped molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) p‐type–n‐type (p–n) homojunction diodes are engineered using thickness‐controlled homo‐interfaces. Current–voltage (I–V) characteristics reveal gate‐tunable rectification, wavelength‐dependent photoresponse, and low‐bias switching.

Pneumoperitoneum in two cats treated with trilostane for hypercortisolism

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract This report describes two cases of pneumoperitoneum in cats receiving treatment for hypercortisolism and diabetes mellitus. Both cats presented with abdominal distention and lethargy and diagnoses of pneumoperitoneum were radiographically confirmed.

Learning Wave Scattering Properties From Seismograms

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Heterogeneities in the Earth's crust scatter seismic waves at many scales, trapping seismic energy and producing coda waves that encode valuable information on geological structures. In regions such as volcanoes and fault systems, analyzing coda waves is essential for characterizing non‐uniform subsurface heterogeneity, improving ...

Inconsistency of threat level in soft armour standards, correlation of experimental tests to bullet X-ray 3D images [PDF]

open access: yes
Fundamental to any ballistic armour standard is the reference projectile that is to be defeated. Typically, for certification, consistency of bullet geometry is assumed.

Role of Dead‐End Regions and Transmitting Pores in Mixing and Reactivity in Unsaturated Porous Media

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Mixing‐limited reactions in unsaturated porous media are controlled by complex pore‐scale processes arising from air and water phases coexistence. Decreasing water saturation increases flow heterogeneity, creating preferential flow paths and dead‐end regions (DER) that alter solute distribution and reaction efficiency.

Epidemiology of Maxillofacial Injuries in the Swords of Iron War: Insights From a National Registry

open access: yesDental Traumatology, Volume 42, Issue 1, Page 71-78, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Maxillofacial injuries (MFI) in warfare present significant challenges due to the concentration of vital structures in the facial region and the high‐energy mechanisms of injury. This study analyzes the epidemiology, severity, and outcomes of MFI during the Swords of Iron conflict using data from the Israeli National Trauma Registry.
