Ballistic range and aerothermodynamic testing
Journal of Aircraft, 1991Recent interest in hypervelocity vehicles requires an increase in our understanding of aerothermodyn amic phenomena. Tests conducted in ground-based facilities will be used to better our understanding of the physics of hypervelocity flight and to verify computer models that will be used to predict vehicle performance in this environment.

The ballistic range and aerothermodynamic testing

Tests conducted in our ground-based facilities can be used both to better understand the physics of hypervelocity flight, and to calibrate and validate computer codes designed to predict vehicle performance in the hypervelocity environment.
