Experimental Investigation of Thin-Walled UHPFRCC Modular Barrier for Blast and Ballistic Protection

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The static response of ballistic panels and also its resistance to blast and ballistic impact is investigated in the framework of this study. By connecting individual ballistic panels together, the protective barrier can be constructed.

Correlations in Ballistic Processes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2003
We investigate a class of reaction processes in which particles move ballistically and react upon colliding. We show that correlations between velocities of colliding particles play a crucial role in the long time behavior. In the reaction-controlled limit when particles undergo mostly elastic collisions and therefore are always near equilibrium, the ...

Spontaneous Cyclic Levitation of Glycerol‐Water Droplets at Low Pressures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under low pressure, a minute glycerol addition transforms the chaotic dynamics of freezing water droplets into cyclic levitation. Freeze‐concentration preserves liquid pathways that relax expansion‐induced stress, while freezing point depression weakens asymmetric vaporization recoil.

Decoding Biomolecular Phase Separation: From Physiological Roles to Pathological Mechanisms and Therapeutic Biomaterials Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review systematically elaborates on the mechanisms underlying physiological regulation and pathological dysregulation of biomolecular phase separation. It also summarizes advances in phase‑separation‑targeted therapeutic strategies and the design of functional biomaterials inspired by this process.

Mechanochemical Engineered Sulfur Copolymers Onto Group 13 and Related Fillers Through Lewis Acid‐Base Pairing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Green mechanochemical copolymerization was developed for universal interfacial modification of Group 13 and related fillers. By leveraging Lewis acid–base coordination to anchor sulfur‐containing polymers—validated via multiscale characterization and DFT—this versatile method boosts performance across liquid fuels, thermal‐shielding materials, and ...

Smart Denture with Embedded Thin‐Film Temperature Sensors Patterned by Femtosecond Laser Pulse for Elderly Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
We demonstrate the direct‐laser patterning of a gold thin film on polymethyl methacrylate to fabricate a temperature sensor for dentures. The temperature sensor‐embedded smart dentures are evaluated in an oral environment, enabling in‐situ monitoring for elderly healthcare.
