Real-time shear wave elastography (SWE) assessment of short- and long-term treatment outcome in Budd-Chiari syndrome: A pilot study. [PDF]
PURPOSE:The first aim of this study was to analyze the relationships between liver stiffness measurement, hepatic venous pressure and liver fibrosis. The second aim was to demonstrate the utility of real-time shear wave elastography for evaluation of ...

Treatment of recoarctation: Balloon dilation angioplasty [PDF]
Balloon dilation of recoarctation of the aorta was performed 47 times in 44 patients 49 +/- 54 months after surgical repair. The initial operation was performed in the neonatal period in 29 patients (66%). The age at balloon dilation was 4.9 +/- 5.3 years (range 2 months to 20 years) and weight was 18 +/- 15 kg (range 2 to 72).

ASCORE: an up-to-date cardiovascular risk score for hypertensive patients reflecting contemporary clinical practice developed using the (ASCOT-BPLA) trial data. [PDF]
A number of risk scores already exist to predict cardiovascular (CV) events. However, scores developed with data collected some time ago might not accurately predict the CV risk of contemporary hypertensive patients that benefit from more modern ...

The IkB kinase inhibitor nuclear factor-kB essential modulator–binding domain peptide for inhibition of balloon injury-induced neointimal formation [PDF]
Objective—The activation of nuclear factor-kB (NF-kB) is a crucial step in the arterial wall’s response to injury. The identification and characterization of the NF-kB essential modulator– binding domain (NBD) peptide, which can block the activation of

Neuropilins 1 and 2 mediate neointimal hyperplasia and re-endothelialization following arterial injury [PDF]
AIMS: Neuropilins 1 and 2 (NRP1 and NRP2) play crucial roles in endothelial cell migration contributing to angiogenesis and vascular development. Both NRPs are also expressed by cultured vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and are implicated in VSMC ...

Antiplatelet therapy for tibial balloon angioplasty: A clinical perspective
Percutaneous transluminal tibial balloon angioplasty has an important role in the therapeutic approach of critical limb ischaemia. Despite a growing number of patients with critical limb ischaemia, there are no trials to guide the pharmacologic approach ...

An engineered in vitro platform mimicking stent strut cross‐sectional shapes reveals how geometry influences cell behavior. Sharp‐cornered geometries promote cell proliferation and matrix alignment, while rounded shapes reduce these effects. The findings align with clinical outcomes and suggest intracellular tension as a key driver, offering a ...
