When a balloon catheter or tenaculum is required for cervical traction during hysterosalpingography

open access: yesJournal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 2023
The aim of this study was to define the actual rate of the traction needed and the balloon catheter or tenaculum requirement for hysterosalpingography (HSG) examinations, and to investigate the correlation between pain scores with the type of traction ...

MR-guided percutaneous angioplasty: Assessment of tracking safety, catheter handling and functionality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: Magnetic resonance (MR)-guided percutaneous vascular interventions have evolved to a practical possibility with the advent of open-configuration MR systems and real-time tracking techniques. The purpose of this study was to assess an MR-tracking

Endovascular Treatment of Renal Artery Bifurcation Stenoses with Branched Balloon Angioplasty [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
An 85-year-old man with left sided single kidney presented with end-stage renal failure after an acute intestinal bleeding. A complex bifurcational stenoses distally to a 6 months previously implanted ostial stent in the left renal artery was found on ...

Is the leaking balloon angioplasty catheter a better catheter?

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 1989
Because of the presence of multiple proximal and distal sideholes, the autoperfusion balloon angioplasty catheter allows passive perfusion of blood through its central lumen while the balloon is inflated. This unique property can serve two major purposes.

Lysosomal Cathepsin S Escape Facilitates Near Infrared Light‐Triggered Pyroptosis Via an Antibody‐Indocyanine Green Conjugate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ICAM1 antibody‐bound ICG triggers tumor‐specific, caspase‐1‐independent pyroptosis via CTSS‐mediated GSDMD cleavage, activates antitumor immunity, and synergizes with anti–PD‐1 therapy, offering a non‐apoptotic strategy to overcome resistance in cancer treatment.

Intestinal obstruction caused by catheter balloon inflation in the small intestine

open access: yesUrology Case Reports, 2023
We present a unique case of small bowel obstruction secondary to a urethral catheter balloon. A gentleman at early 80s presented with a blocked catheter, passing a tiny amount of stool through the catheter.

FOXM1 Protects Against Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury in Rodent and Porcine Models by Suppressing MKRN1‐Dependent LKB1 Ubiquitination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FOXM1 maintains mitochondrial bioenergetic function by inhibiting MKRN1‐mediated ubiquitination of LKB1 in cardiomyocytes. Loss of FOXM1 in cardiomyocytes results in upregulation of MKRN1, which enhances LKB1 ubiquitination and disrupts AMPK signaling and energy metabolism pathways. Conversely, FOXM1 overexpression preserves mitochondrial bioenergetics
