Field‐applicable low‐intensity exercise induces bronchodilation in horses with severe asthma

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Airway dysfunction in severe equine asthma (SEA) often results in early retirement or euthanasia of affected horses. Exercise‐induced bronchodilation occurs in horses with SEA after intense treadmill exercise, but the effects of a lighter, field‐applicable, training regimen remain largely unexplored.

Dilatation of severe esophageal strictures by an inflatable balloon catheter.

open access: yes, 1981
Most benign strictures of the esophagus can be successfully dilated with conventional bougienage techniques. Occasionally strictures are so severe, lengthy, or irregular that these techniques fail, and surgery is required.

Small Bowel Lesions and Bleeding Risk in Hemodialysis Patients: A Narrative Review

open access: yesHemodialysis International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Gastrointestinal bleeding is very common among hemodialysis patients. This high bleeding risk is caused by uremic platelet dysfunction, vascular fragility, intradialytic hemodynamic instability, and widespread antithrombotic therapy.

Early balloon dilatation of the pulmonary valve in infants with tetralogy of Fallot. Risks and benefits.

open access: yes, 1995
BACKGROUND: Balloon dilatation, an established treatment for pulmonary valve stenosis, remains a controversial procedure in tetralogy of Fallot. METHODS AND RESULTS: Balloon dilatation of the pulmonary valve was performed in 19 infants with tetralogy of ...

Patient‐Reported Outcome Measures Following Pulsed‐Field Ablation Versus Thermal Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation: The PROMs‐PFA Study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
Pulsed‐field was associated with less early post‐procedural chest pain than thermal ablation. ABSTRACT Background Pulsed‐field ablation (PFA) has transformed atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation, but how the early patient experience compares with thermal techniques remains unclear.

Navigating the Zero Fluoroscopy Frontier: Current Tools, Evidence and Future Directions in Electrophysiology Procedures

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
Graphical Abstract ABSTRACT Fluoroscopy has traditionally been the mainstay imaging technique for guidance during electrophysiology (EP) ablation procedures. The numerous disadvantages associated with radiation exposure for both operators and patients have created the need for zero‐fluoroscopy (ZF) approaches. Today, electrophysiologists have access to
