Characterization of commercially important Asian bamboo species

European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2015
Physico-chemical characterization of six commercially important Indian bamboo species has been performed. The maximum starch content was found in B. vulgaris, highest hot water soluble constituents noticed in B. pallida, Bangalore, while lowest content of these soluble constituents was observed in B. tulda, Bihar.

Species ofColletotrichumon bamboos from China

Mycologia, 2021
Twenty-seven Colletotrichum isolates associated with asymptomatic tissues of bamboo (Bambusoideae, Gramineae) were isolated from Anhui, Beijing, and Guangxi in China. Based on multilocus (internal transcribed spacer [ITS], glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase [GAPDH], chitin synthase [CHS], actin [ACT], beta-tubulin [TUB2]) phylogenetic analyses ...

Flexural Behavior of Six Species of Italian Bamboo

Construction Technologies and Architecture, 2022
The good mechanical performance of bamboo, coupled with its sustainability, has boosted the idea to use it as a structural material. In some areas of the world it is regularly used in constructions but there are still countries in which there is a lack of knowledge of the mechanical properties of the locally-grown bamboo, which limits the spread of ...

Occurrence of warts in bamboo species

Wood Science and Technology, 1977
Warts have been observed in several bamboo species; they are present not only in vessel members and fibres, but also in the highly lignified parenchyma cells, especially in those of the elongated type. Among the 34 species studies only a few possess warts in all three cell types.
