Electrolytic (C2CNT) Carbon Nanotubes Made From CO2 as an Inexpensive Carbon Sink and High‐Capacity Li‐Ion Battery Graphite Replacement

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Carbon‐negative carbon nanotubes produced by molten CO2 electrolysis offer a low‐cost, high‐performance alternative to graphite in Li‐ion battery anodes. Replacing conventional carbon materials with electrolytic CNTs can improve battery capacity and charging performance while reducing costs and contributing to carbon mitigation.

Diversity and New Species of Ascomycota from Bamboo in China

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
Bamboo is an economically important crop that has gained prominence as an alternative to wood to reduce deforestation and ecosystem destruction. Diseases of bamboo that typically occur on leaves and stems can cause significant loss, reducing the quality and yield of the bamboo. However, there are few reports identifying the fungal species diversity and

Monitoring and Mitigation Strategies for Hazardous Compounds in Chinese Rice Wine (Huangjiu): A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
This review elucidates the formation pathways and detection technologies for ethyl carbamate, biogenic amines, and higher alcohols in Huangjiu. It concludes that integrated control frameworks are essential to decouple safety risks from the metabolic processes responsible for flavor development.

Simultaneous 3/4‐power scaling of leaf mass and 2/3‐power scaling of leaf area with stem mass in plants

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Plant allometry theory developed in the last century focused on 2/3‐power scaling, determined by light interception considerations. More recently, 3/4‐power scaling based on the properties of vascular distribution networks has been proposed.

Morphological characterization, molecular identification, and metabolic profiles of two novel isolated bamboo mushrooms (Phallus sp.) from Thailand.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
The well-characterized edible and medicinal bamboo mushroom is Phallus indusiatus, a Chinese bamboo mushroom with long white indusium (skirt). To date, scientists have found more than five species of bamboo mushrooms in Thailand, containing bamboo ...

Putative trait‐based retention of oral‐derived microbes along the oral–gut axis in bamboo‐eating pandas

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Compared with the two herbivorous comparison species, pandas showed higher estimated oral‐source contributions and enrichment of microbial traits associated with facultative anaerobiosis, biofilm formation, and stress tolerance. These patterns are consistent with a model in which greater oral microbial input and putative host filtering may jointly ...
