Compressive deformation of Bambusa Vulgaris-Schrad in the transverse and longitudinal orientations
Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2020This paper presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the compressive deformation of bamboo (Bambusa Vulgaris-Schrad) in the middle section. The deformation mechanisms are elucidated via in-situ observations of deformation in specimens oriented for loading in directions that are either longitudinal or transverse.

Impact of Saline Water Treatments on Vegetative Propagation of Bambusa Vulgaris Var. Vulgaris
Indian Journal of Forestry, 2014A nursery experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of saline water irrigation on the cuttings of Bambusa vulgaris var. vulgaris Schrad. and the changes in soil properties and soil microbial population was studied during the year 2009-10. The experiment was laid out in CRD.

Dimensional stability of Bambusa vulgaris for the production of GLB and furniture
Journal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science, 2013The objective of this study was to determine the dimensional stability of Bambusa vulgaris, analyzing the technical viability of its use by industries of GLB (glued laminated bamboo) and furniture. The variations occurred in the dimensions of the specimens after immersion in water and dried on a stove were investigated.

Using the Bamboo {Bambusa vulgaris) as Field Drainage Material
Transactions of the ASAE, 1981ABSTRACT HIGH water table, waterlogging and salinity are al-ready problems in some irrigation projects in Nigeria. This means that surface drainage alone cannot handle the drainage problems of some of these projects. The high cost of imported subsurface drainage materials demands that efforts be made to locate relatively cheap local materials which can

In vitro regeneration of adult trees of Bambusa vulgaris
2009We developed procedures for the regeneration of Bambusa vulgaris using nodal segments from adult plants. Optimal shoot growth was after 16 days cultivation on modified Murashige and Skoog (MMS) medium supplemented with 2 mg/l of BAP. Elongated shoots of B. vulgaris rooted (45.85%) when cultured in MMS + 20 mg/l IBA.
