On the H_ψ-quiver metric and the Banach contraction principle

open access: yesBoletim da Sociedade Paranaense de Matemática
Paper aims to unify in a one-and-only theory several generalizations of the notion of metric as well as its probabilistic versions. We establish that the following well-known metrics are very special cases namely, Ultrametric, b-Metric, Probabilistic b-Metric, Branciari Metric and Probabilistic Generalized Metric.

Quasicontraction Mappings in Modular Spaces without Δ2-Condition

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2008
As a generalization to Banach contraction principle, Ćirić introduced the concept of quasi-contraction mappings. In this paper, we investigate these kinds of mappings in modular function spaces without the -condition.

Existence of non-oscillatory solutions to first-order neutral differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
This article presents sufficient conditions for the existence of non-oscillatory solutions to first-order differential equations having both delay and advance terms, known as mixed equations. Our main tool is the Banach contraction principle.

Three alternative proofs of the Banach contraction principle

open access: yesAnnales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis | Studia ad Didacticam Mathematicae Pertinentia
This study presents three alternative proofs of the Banach contraction principle (BCP). These proofs are derived from proofs of theorems that generalized the BCP, established in the existing studies. By simplifying the proofs of the generalized theorems, the alternative proofs of the BCP are obtained.
