Variational Convexity of Functions in Banach Spaces

open access: yes, 2023
This paper addresses the study and characterizations of variational convexity of extended-real-valued functions on Banach spaces. This notion has been recently introduced by Rockafellar, and its importance has been already realized and applied to continuous optimization problems in finite-dimensional spaces.

Banach algebra of the Fourier multipliers on weighted Banach function spaces

open access: yesConcrete Operators, 2015
Let MX,w(ℝ) denote the algebra of the Fourier multipliers on a separable weighted Banach function space X(ℝ,w).We prove that if the Cauchy singular integral operator S is bounded on X(ℝ, w), thenMX,w(ℝ) is continuously embedded into L∞(ℝ).

On a class of translation-invariant spaces of quasianalytic ultradistributions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A class of translation-invariant Banach spaces of quasianalytic ultradistributions is introduced and studied. They are Banach modules over a Beurling algebra. Based on this class of Banach spaces, we define corresponding test function spaces $\mathcal{D}^

Microrobotic Catheterization of the Ophthalmic Artery for Targeted Treatment of Retinoblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A microrobotic platform is presented that allows teleoperated and autonomous navigation of flow‐driven magnetic microcatheters, MagFlow, into the ophthalmic artery for superselective intra‐arterial infusion of chemotherapy to treat retinoblastoma. Extensive benchtop validations with patient‐derived biomimetic phantoms under optical and fluoroscopic ...

Local Uniform Convexity and Kadec-Klee Type Properties in K-interpolation spaces II

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2004
We study local uniform convexity and Kadec-Klee type properties in K-interpolation spaces of Lorentz couples. We show that a wide class of Banach couples of (commutative and) non-commutative Lorentz spaces possess the (so-alled) (DGL)-property originally

Solving Support Vector Machines in Reproducing Kernel Banach Spaces with Positive Definite Functions

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we solve support vector machines in reproducing kernel Banach spaces with reproducing kernels defined on nonsymmetric domains instead of the traditional methods in reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces.

Self‐Similar Blowup for the Cubic Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We give a rigorous proof for the existence of a finite‐energy, self‐similar solution to the focusing cubic Schrödinger equation in three spatial dimensions. The proof is computer‐assisted and relies on a fixed point argument that shows the existence of a solution in the vicinity of a numerically constructed approximation.

Invariant Measure and Universality of the 2D Yang–Mills Langevin Dynamic

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We prove that the Yang–Mills (YM) measure for the trivial principal bundle over the two‐dimensional torus, with any connected, compact structure group, is invariant for the associated renormalised Langevin dynamic. Our argument relies on a combination of regularity structures, lattice gauge‐fixing and Bourgain's method for invariant measures ...

Multiplication Semigroups on Banach Function Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we characterize multiplication operators induced by operator valued maps on Banach function spaces. We also study multiplication semigroups and stability of these operators.Comment: We want to withdraw the paper due to the paper needs a ...

New Generalised Semi‐Analytical Approach for the Multidimensional Nonlinear Collisional Fragmentation Equations

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This work aims to develop a generalised and efficient semi‐analytical method that combines the Laplace decomposition method with Pade approximation (LDMPA) to solve multidimensional nonlinear integro‐partial differential equation. For a one‐dimension case, explicit (closed‐form) solutions for the number density functions are derived for the first time.
