Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Longer-term effects of monetary growth on real and nominal variables, major industrial countries, 1880-2001 [PDF]

open access: yes
: We study how fluctuations in money growth correlate with fluctuations in real and nominal output growth and inflation. We pick cycles from each time series that last 2 to 8 (business cycles) and 8 to 40 (longer-term cycles) years, using band-pass ...

Spectrally resolved detection in transient-reflectivity measurements of coherent optical phonons in diamond

open access: yes, 2016
Coherent optical phonons in bulk solid system play a crucial role in understanding and designing light-matter interactions and can be detected by the transient-reflectivity measurement.

Laser Metal Deposition of Aluminum Alloys 7075 and 5083 with the Addition of Volatile Alloying Elements through Powder Blending

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser metal deposition of aluminum alloys EN AW‐7075 and EN AW‐5083, using powder blending to compensate zinc and magnesium evaporation. In situ alloying and ex situ alloying with ZnAl12 and AZ91 preserve near‐standard compositions and improve mechanical properties.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Study on the Relation between Local Earthquakes and Minute Ground Deformation. Part 2. An Application of the Digital Filtering to the Tiltgram for the Detection of the Minute Anomalous Tilting of the Ground. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Digital band-pass and high-pass filters have been applied to the tiltmetric records observed at Wakayama, in order to detect small anomalous ground deformations.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Biconical Cavity Utilised in Realising Quadruple‐ and Quintuple‐Mode Wideband Bandpass Filters

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
This work introduces the biconical cavity as a high‐performance resonator for multimode wideband bandpass filters. Unlike conventional cylindrical cavities, its tapered geometry enhances mode separation and extends the rejection band compared to an equal‐
