Fabrication and characterization of plasmonic band-stop filter using Ag grating [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
This study proposes a plasmonic band-stop filter with surface plasmon resonance in a doublelayer wire grid structure targeting short-wavelength visible and near-ultraviolet regions for applications in ultraviolet photography.

Resource allocation in DMT transmitters with per-tone pulse shaping [PDF]

open access: yes
International audiencePer-tone pulse shaping has been proposed as an alternative to time domain spectral shaping for DMT transmitters, e.g. VDSL modems.

Ground-Based Coronagraphy with High Order Adaptive Optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We summarize the theory of coronagraphic optics, and identify a dimensionless fine-tuning parameter, F, which we use to describe the Lyot stop size in the natural units of the coronagraphic optical train and the observing wavelength.

Design and Characterization of Wideband Terahertz Metamaterial Stop-Band Filter

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
We propose and design a metamaterial broadband stop-band filter with a steep cut-off in the terahertz region. The filter is based on the flexible structure of metal-dielectric-metal-dielectric-metal (MDMDM).

Reconfigurable SiC embedded photonic structures with self optical bias control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Multilayered heterostructures based on embedded a-Si:H and a-SiC:H p-i-n filters are analyzed from differential voltage design perspective using short- and long-pass filters. The transfer functions characteristics are presented. A numerical simulation is

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

An Ultra-Wide Stop-Band LPF Using Asymmetric Pi-Shaped Koch Fractal DGS

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Defected ground structure (DGS) with symmetrical geometry has been widely adopted in low-pass filter (LPF) designing, while asymmetrical geometry DGS can exhibit some specific features on transition band and stop-band.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Tunable Germanium-on-Insulator Band-Stop Optical Filter Using Thermo-Optic Effect

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
We demonstrate a tunable band-stop optical filter on a germanium-on-insulator photonic platform operating at 1.95 μm wavelength. The band-stop filter is implemented using parallel-coupled microring resonators with the number of microring ...
