A Compact Dual Band Gap Electromagnetic Band Gap Structure

In this communication, compact dual-bandgap two via double-slot-type electromagnetic bandgap (TVDS-EBG) structure is presented. The analysis of the TVDS-EBG structure is done by using the $LC$ model. Two resonance parallel $LC$ circuits per unit cell result dual-bandgap in the $x$ - and $y$ -directions.

Electromagnetic Band gap Structures

Various features about the application of EBG materials in printed antenna design and electromagnetic scattering are presented and methods of analysis are introduced. It is shown that a microstrip antenna with EBG or PMC surface has a larger directivity and lower side and back lobe levels. Numerical results are presented.
