Enhancement of the Visible Light Photodetection of Inorganic Photodiodes via Additional Quantum Dots Layers

open access: yesMicromachines
Visible light photodetectors are extensively researched with transparent metal oxide holes/electron layers for various applications. Among the metal oxide transporting layers, nickel oxide (NiO) and zinc oxide (ZnO) are commonly adopted due to their wide

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Band Structure, Density of States, Structural Phase Transition and Metallization in CdO Under High Pressure

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2016
The structural phase transition and metallization of the group II-VI compound semiconductor cadmium oxide (CdO) is investigated through its band structure obtained using the full potential linear muffin-tin orbital (FP-LMTO) method.

Compact Electromagnetic Bandgap Structures for Notch Band in Ultra-Wideband Applications

open access: yes, 2009
This paper introduces a novel approach to create notch band filters in the front-end of ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems based on electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structures. The design presented here can be implemented in any structure that has a

Band Structure Engineering of Schiff-Base Microporous Organic Polymers for Enhanced Visible-Light Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yes, 2019
Schiff‐base networks (SBNs), as typical examples of nitrogen‐doped microporous organic polymers (MOPs), exhibit promising application prospects owing to their stable properties and tunable chemical structures.

Electrodynamics of an omega-band as deduced from optical and magnetometer data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate an omega-band event that took place above northern Scandinavia around 02:00–02:30 UT on 9 March 1999. In our analysis we use ground based magnetometer, optical and riometer measurements together with satellite based optical images.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

On the Estimation of Forest Vertical Structure From Multibaseline Polarimetric SAR Data

open access: yes, 2012
Forest characterization and biomass estimation by means of remote sensing systems are nowadays “hot topics” within the remote sensing community, given their importance in the terrestrial carbon budget. In fact, forest vertical structure is a key variable
