Uniplanar compact wideband bandstop filter
A uniplanar wideband bandstop filter is proposed using two bent open-end stubs. The proposed filter consists of the bent connecting line of /spl lambda//sub g//2 between two bent /spl lambda//sub g//4 stubs, which results in wideband design with a rejection bandwidth of 90% at 2.05 GHz.

Neuromuscular fatigue reduces force responsiveness when controlling leg external forces
Abstract Agile movement requires precise control of ground reaction forces, yet the impact of neuromuscular fatigue on this control remains incompletely understood. We investigated how leg muscle fatigue affects the nervous system's ability to modulate vertical ground reaction forces, hypothesizing that fatigue would impair responsiveness, and accuracy.

Toward photonic crystal based spatial filters with wide angle ranges of total transmission [PDF]
Cataloged from PDF version of article.Spatial filters with steep switching between wide ranges of total transmission and total reflection can be obtained by using two-dimensional dielectric photonic crystals, which are a few wavelengths thick.

Acute Cervical Vagus Nerve Stimulation Modulates Gastric Slow Waves in the Distal Rat Stomach
Slow waves were mapped on the rat gastric serosa during acute cervical vagus nerve stimulation with three stimulation protocols. The medium and high cVNS protocols modified slow wave frequency, and slow wave propagation was temporarily disrupted during stimulation in all subjects.

Reducing ECG Artifact From Left Ventricular Assist Device Electromagnetic Interference
Background Left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) generate electromagnetic interference that causes high‐frequency noise artifacts on 12‐lead ECGs. We describe the causes of this interference and potential solutions to aid ECG interpretation in patients

Modeling Emotional Arousal With Turbulence Measured by EEG
ABSTRACT Turbulence‐like dynamics in brain activity have been proposed as a signature of systems operating near criticality, and may reflect changes in neuronal function associated with emotional states. In this paper, we hypothesize that motor behavior linked to emotional expression modulates turbulence, reflecting a shift towards more streamlined ...
