High-bandwidth encryption with low-bandwidth smartcards [PDF]
This paper describes a simple protocol, the Remotely Keyed Encryption Protocol (RKEP), that enables a secure, but bandwidthlimited, cryptographic smartcard to function as a high-bandwidth secretkey encryption and decryption engine for an insecure, but fast, host processor.

Photomultiplication organic photodetectors (PM OPDs) are an attractive strategy for health‐monitoring. Here, PM‐OPDs are reported with a specific detectivity of 5.7 × 1012 Jones and external quantum efficiency values of 3500% under −10 V. The dynamics of carrier trapping in these devices are elucidated through trap selective spectroscopical techniques.

A high bandwidth quantum repeater
We present a physical- and link-level design for the creation of entangled pairs to be used in quantum repeater applications where one can control the noise level of the initially distributed pairs.

Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.

Ultra-broadband Silicon Photonic Multimode Interference Coupler [PDF]
In integrated optics, multimode interference couplers (MMIs) are used as light-wave splitters and combiners in a wide variety of devices ranging from spectrometers to sensors and coherent optical receivers.
