Distributed consensus with mixed time/communication bandwidth performance metrics [PDF]
In this paper we study the inherent trade-off between time and communication complexity for the distributed consensus problem. In our model, communication complexity is measured as the maximum data throughput (in bits per second) sent through the network at a given instant. Such a notion of communication complexity, referred to as bandwidth complexity,

Modulating Oxide‐Based Quantum Materials by Ion Implantation
This review highlights how ion implantation, a well developed chip‐technology, enables targeted modulation of oxide‐based quantum materials. This includes tuning of metal‐insulator transitions, magnetism, and superconductivity through selective doping, defect creation, and induced lattice strain. Abstract Ion implantation has emerged as a powerful tool

Bandwidth Embeddings for Mixed-bandwidth Speech Recognition [PDF]
In this paper, we tackle the problem of handling narrowband and wideband speech by building a single acoustic model (AM), also called mixed bandwidth AM. In the proposed approach, an auxiliary input feature is used to provide the bandwidth information to the model, and bandwidth embeddings are jointly learned as part of acoustic model training ...

Internally catalyzed siloxane dynamic chemistry is demonstrated resulting from amides covalently linked through alkyl chains to siloxanes. The alkyl length in the siloxane‐containing monomer tunes the network cross‐link density. Siloxane exchange dynamics are faster with increasing cross‐link density, because associative exchange is second order in ...

Silicon Nanowire Mats Enable Advanced Bioelectrical Recordings in Primary DRG Cell Cultures
SiNW mat‐based MEA (NW_MEA) enables continuous intracellular recordings from neurons in primary rat DRG cell cultures, identifying C‐fiber nociceptors. Supported by an astrocyte feeder layer, SiNW mat promotes DRG neuron and glial cell growth, preserving in vivo‐like cell characteristics and allowing drug‐modulated activity monitoring.

advance reservations of bandwidth in computer networks

Albumin Corona Overturns Long‐Acting Behaviors of Myristic Acid‐Conjugated Quetiapine Nanosuspension
Albumin corona alters surface properties and enhances colloidal stability by overturning pH responsiveness and nano‐aggregation behaviors of long‐acting myristic acid‐conjugated quetiapine nanosuspensions (QMN), resulting in accelerated in vitro and in vivo drug release.

Optoelectronic Devices for In‐Sensor Computing
The raw data obtained directly from sensors in the noisy analogue domain is often unstructured, which lacks a predefined format or organization and does not conform to a specific data model. Optoelectronic devices for in‐sensor visual processing can integrate perception, memory, and processing functions in the same physical units, which can compress ...
